Bound By Mourning Devlog – Prototyping

Last week we worked on the rough draft for the first chapter and story boarded! Raptor and I thought that it was a good start so we moved on to the prototype phase.

We decided that it would be best to take a chapter by chapter that way we can make adjustments as needed without it affecting the entire story!!

Now for the exciting and fun bits! Currently the game updates independently! It is not reliant on the steam client or the itch app to send out updates!!

When I was adding in the dialogue choices for this first scene, I was playing around with the position of the choices menu, and I noticed that depending on the size of the character bust, we could actually make the choices window look like speech bubbles!

What I like about what we’re doing with this can all be done in rpgmaker mz natively! Outside of some things like the plugin to update the game independently my goal is to take complete advantage of what the engine offers; it keeps the game light, keeps things simple and overall will keep the production cost down.

Now for some real talk.

At this time there’s no real way to know how much this is all going to cost. This is my first real game project and I don’t want this to cost an arm and a leg. So I’m introducing a self hosted campaign LURKIN’ FOR A DREAM

Lurkin’ for a dream is simple!
